Position Overview
We seek a creative and enthusiastic Interaction Design Intern to join our multidisciplinary studio. This unpaid internship offers hands-on experience in the intersection of art, technology, and environmental design, providing valuable learning opportunities for students and emerging designers.
Time Commitment
- 8 hours per week
- Flexible scheduling available
- 3-month minimum commitment is preferred
Learning Opportunities
The intern will gain practical experience in:
- Interactive Electronics Design and Prototyping: Creating responsive and engaging installations
- Exhibition Design: Conceptualizing and planning immersive experiences
- 3D Design and 3D Printing: Developing and fabricating physical prototypes
- 3D Prototyping and CAD: Using industry-standard software for design visualization
- Environmental Design: Integrating installations within natural and built spaces
Ideal Candidate
We're looking for someone who:
- Is currently enrolled in or can share their plan to enroll in a design, art, engineering, or related program
- Demonstrates strong interest in interaction design and environmental installations
- Shows initiative and ability to work independently
- Has basic familiarity with design software and willingness to learn new tools
- Brings curiosity and enthusiasm for combining art, technology, and humanity
What You'll Do
- Assist in the conceptualization and development of interactive installations.
- Learn and apply 3D modeling and prototyping techniques
- Contribute to the design and implementation of exhibition experiences
- Collaborate with our team on various stages of the design process
- Document and present project progress
- Design, code, and prototype interactive experiences
